Two months have passed since the residents of Nkulumane, Bulawayo, placed their trust in Desire Moyo, the newly elected Member of Parliament, on August 23, 2023. With immense joy and gratitude, Moyo now extends his heartfelt thanks to his constituents for the monumental responsibility they’ve entrusted to him.

Nkulumane, a name that resonates with historical significance, reflects the strength and resilience of its people, echoing the legacy of Prince Nkulumane, the firstborn son of the legendary King Mzilikazi, who founded pre-colonial Zimbabwe. Today, Moyo, the elected representative, is determined to revive the spirit of Nkulumane, making it not just a local powerhouse but a symbol of triumph heard around the world.

Desire Moyo expressed his gratitude to the diverse groups that form the tapestry of Nkulumane’s community. From the dedicated mothers to the guiding fathers, respected church leaders, and diligent residents’ association heads, Moyo acknowledges their roles in nurturing the community. He also praised the university students, businesspeople, vendors, and the vibrant arts organizations that contribute to Nkulumane’s prosperity. Under his leadership, Moyo promises to hear their voices, address their concerns, and help them realize their dreams.

As a commitment to inclusivity, Moyo declared his intention to be a humble servant of the people, emphasizing that he would be a representative for all, regardless of gender, race, creed, or political affiliation. He stressed that Nkulumane is one community with a shared destiny, transcending their differences to achieve a common goal.

In anticipation of new beginnings, Desire Moyo extended an invitation to the residents of Nkulumane and Bulawayo at large. This invitation is for the “Siyabonga – Victory Citizens Celebration,” scheduled for mid-November. This event will not only commemorate their victory but also set the stage for substantial development in the constituency, fostering unity, solidarity, and renewed hope among the residents.
