BULAWAYO – The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Bulawayo Provincial Council held a high-level meeting on Saturday solidifying its support for party leader Professor Welshman Ncube and reinforcing its internal structures.
The gathering, attended by delegates from all 12 districts, saw key CCC figures in attendance, including President Welshman Ncube, Acting National Organising Secretary Senator Collet Ndlovu, and several Members of Parliament and Senators. The meeting received reports from the party’s three provincial executive wings—Main, Women, and Youth—all of which commended Ncube for his leadership, describing him as the “game-changer” needed to steer the opposition forward.
Delegates applauded Ncube for his efforts in reviving party structures and adhering to the CCC’s constitution amid ongoing internal challenges. The meeting also saw a major development with the endorsement of the expulsion of Sengezo Tshabangu from the party. Tshabangu, who has been at the center of controversy, was found guilty by the CCC Disciplinary Committee. The opposition has repeatedly accused him of being an “imposter” and a “Zanu PF hatchet man” following his controversial recall of CCC MPs and councillors—a move that was eventually blocked by the High Court after many officials had been recalled.
The meeting marked a critical step in the CCC’s efforts to maintain unity and focus ahead of upcoming political engagements. It reaffirmed the party’s commitment to democracy, justice, and equality, positioning Ncube as the leader to guide the opposition in its next phase.
With party structures now realigned, CCC members expressed renewed optimism about the future, vowing to push forward with their political agenda despite challenges from within and outside the party.
