Lt. General Anselem Nhamo Sanyatwe appointed Commander of Zimbabwe Army

In a significant development within the top echelons of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, has announced the immediate appointment of Lieutenant General Anselem Nhamo Sanyatwe as the new Commander of the Zimbabwe National Army. The appointment, made in accordance with the Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment (No. 20), comes in the wake of the retirement of the outgoing Commander of the Zimbabwe National Army, Lieutenant General David Sigauke.

Under the provisions of section 216(2) of the Constitution, coupled with sections 89 and 118(288), President Mnangagwa’s decision to elevate Lieutenant General Anselem Nhamo Sanyatwe to this critical role reflects the leader’s commitment to ensuring the ongoing stability and security of Zimbabwe.
